BRAIN MONITORING FOR FUN AND PROFIT
| Presenter: |
Pierre Mourad
Principal Physicist, Center for Industrial and Medical Ultrasound, APL-UW and Research Associate Professor, Department of Neurological Surgery, UW
Abstract:
Dr. Mourad has conducted research on using ultrasound to monitor the health of the brain with a combination of industry and public funding. Here he presents both the science of his version of brain monitoring and how he has managed to make a living doing the science. The talk's objective is to teach something about brain monitoring and something about this particular way of doing research in these difficult financial times. Dr. Mourad offers his professional experience as a model that seminar participants may find suggestive for their own.
