Signal Processing, Time-Frequency Analysis, Digital Communications

Dr. Davidson joined the Laboratory in 2004 and his primary interests are
applications of time-frequency analysis, machine learning applications
in signal processing, and digital communications. He is currently
investigating automatic detection and classification of sniper weaponry
via gunshot acoustic signatures, and developing electromagnetic field
signal processing techniques for detection, classification, and tracking
of underwater targets. Previous research efforts include algorithm
development for automatic identification and blind demodulation of
communications signals, and classification of synthetic aperture radar
(SAR) imagery via wavelet-based texture characterization.
